Linus Woods “Horse Paint”

Linus Woods was born on the Long Plain Reserve in Manitoba in 1967. He is a descendant of Sioux and Ojibway parents.

Linus studied art at Brandon University in Manitoba and shortly after spent time apprenticing with internationally renowned artist Jane Ash Poitras (RCA). Since 1994, Linus has traveled extensively throughout North America intent on acquiring knowledge of the legends and folklore from the many different Aboriginal nations across Turtle Island. He has spent time living a traditional way of life and speaking his native language. These are the experiences that influence his painting.

Linus has received numerous awards for his art work both nationally and internationally, and his paintings can be found in many corporate and private collections throughout Canada and the USA.
