Opening Reception Saturday, November 16
Meet the artists from 2:00 – 4:00 PM

Nancy Desjarlais:  It’s always been the time for nurturing our connection between body, spirit and cosmos. Now, more than ever, the strong feminine aspect with its caring nature is coming forward.
Imagining realities is my journey in which I draw from my cultural values and traditions in order to understand my creative path.  Working on the theme of women, it seems natural to see the connection to the earth as a power source with an inner power that is contemplative, participatory, fierce and graceful.  We are all part of the earth’s landscape and must appreciate and celebrate its wonders any way we can.  Whether through ceremony, art, gathering knowledge, contributing to society or through motherhood, what is paramount is love and creativity. Nurturing the earth is nurturing ourselves.

Maxine Noel:  Currently, there is much to think about in the world.  Throughout time women’s voices have struggled to be heard.  In my lifetime, I have seen much progress in the lives of women, women are now speaking out.  My paintings show women as independent, strong and compassionate.  Ancient prophecy tells us that after much conflict in the world there will come “the time of women” and we will live in relative peace.

Exhibition continues to November 27, 2024
