Anthony Antoine
Anthony Antoine, a long-time resident of Northern Canada, was born in Fort Simpson, NWT and has lived in Edmonton for well over 25 years.
Anthony has been providing wonderful artwork to private collector and galleries across Canada since 1989.
When asked why he carves, Anthony explains that it feels natural to carve, it is a form of therapy and is a relaxing creative experience and I have always been drawn to stone and the 3-dimensional perspective.
Anthony’s love of nature provides inspiration for his many carvings. Anthony spends roughly sixty hours per week using hand and power tools to make his artistic visions come to life. His images often reflect the animal life he grew up with and the spiritual aspects of his roots.
Anthony has been commissioned to create carvings for commercial purposes. His works can be found in the collection of Xerox, Shoppers Drug Mart and the North Slave Metis Alliance.
