Holly Cheverie was born and raised in Alberta. She has a diverse cultural background and is a member of the M'Chigeeng First Nation Band. Growing up, she always had a passion for the arts. As a teenager, she taught herself to paint by following along with Bob Ross on television. After living in Saskatchewan for a few years, Holly graduated form the University of Regina in visual arts. She is familiar with many mediums but chooses to focus in oils, acrylics and alcohol inks. Holly paints mainly wildlife and abstract. Through her paintings, she hopes to express and share her visions of the beauty all around us.
"In my artistic practice, I draw inspiration from the untamed beauty of nature and the wildlife that exists beyond our urban lives. My Indigenous heritage helps my paintings tell a visual story that weaves together nature with the spiritual, conveying the vitality of the creatures that inhabit these landscapes while celebrating their majesty and resilience in an ever changing environmental landscape. I strive to show the interconnectedness of all living things and to encourage a renewed appreciation for the wonders that surround us. Through my paintings, I hope to create a place where the viewer can pause, reflect and reconnect with the profound beauty of our natural world."
